Low-Back-Friendly Lower Body Day
Train legs hard with smarter hinge and squat choices when the low back is sensitive.
Overview
You can still train quads, glutes, and hamstrings with belt squats, leg presses, single-leg work, and supported hinges. Reduce axial fatigue while keeping progressive sets.
Weekly schedule
Lower (back-friendly)— Supported loading
- Leg press or belt squat
- Single-leg RDL light
- Hip thrust
- Leg curl
- Walking if tolerated
Set and rep guidance
Keep braces honest and ranges controlled. Stop sets before form collapses into painful spinal flexion under load.
Progression
Rebuild conventional hinges slowly. Strength in supported patterns still counts.
Who it's for
Lifters managing low-back sensitivity (not acute medical emergencies).
